Older Future is Alon Yaish, an Israeli engineer and synth maker who uses his skills to develop a unique and distinct sound aesthetic.

Growing up in a very musical family, his parents are classical musicians and his brother is the lead  guitarist of the legendary Israeli rock duo “Yuppies with jeeps”. 

Older Future studied classical piano as a child, this later pushed him forward to his enormous love of synthesizers. 

Older Future started making music over 20 years ago, when he was in high school.

His adult musical journey started at the raves and ruins of Jerusalem, the city where he was born where he was a DJ at several underground parties.

The love of synthesizers was always around even when life took him to different directions like compulsory army service and studying for an advanced degree in Electrical engineering. The covid lockdown of 2020 proved to be a catalyst for creativity and inspired Older Future to seek out new methods of synthesis and explore different musical tropes.   

Inspired by modern EDM music and legends like Aphex Twin, Astral Projection and The Prodigy, but also from 80’s and 90’s synth music like Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk and Jean-Michel Jarre, Older Future seeks out to create something new with his own unique sound.

Today, a top tier engineer with vast experience in digital signal processing, his skills translate fluidly into the abstract harmonic soundscapes that take the listener on a journey to the core of his appreciation for the craft.

Defying genres with pulsing tinfoil wrapped sounds and polyrhythmic beats, Older Future’s music might be defined as psychedelic synth music,but flirts with breakbeat, drum and bass and electro and can never be strictly defined. 

Older Future’s music is about the future, the past, the depths of space and the depths of our own imagination.
