Split Vision (SE)

Split Vision wants to convey the feeling of the 80's and give the listeners a synthy retro experience.

Split Vision is a classic Swedish synthpop group originally formed in 1985. The band began with four high-school friends inspired by iconic electronic acts such as Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure, and Pet Shop Boys. Their sound is best described as melodic, danceable synthpop with an unmistakable 80s vibe.

Early Years: Late 80s Synthpop Life
Throughout the late 1980s, Split Vision performed live at numerous discotheques across North-Eastern Skåne, Sweden. The band also appeared on radio shows and participated in several talent competitions, gradually building a name in the local synth scene.

In 1988, Split Vision released their single “How Will I Ever” on Platinum Records. And songs like “So Many Times” and “I Can’t Dance” became quite popular in the homeland back in the 80’s. After a few intense and creative years, the band eventually disbanded.

Revival of Split Vision – Back to the Synth Roots
In the spring of 2019, original members Dan Hansson and Henric Palmqvist reunited to bring Split Vision back to life. Their mission was clear: create new music while staying true to the authentic 80s synthpop roots that shaped the band.

The result became the album “Among the Stars,” released on October 1st, 2020. The album is thematically crafted around cosmic imagery, combining atmospheric synth layers with lyrics inspired by the universe. With this release, Split Vision set out to deliver a genuine retro 80s synthpop experience for both old and new listeners. Popular trackw from the album is: “Is That Okay” and “Last Man On Earth”

The Sound Of Split Vision
“We want to take the audience back to carefully carved arpeggios that smell of Moog and Yamaha DX-7. Our goal was to recreate the sound we loved at the beginning of our electronic music journey. Strong melodies, a distinct lead, and a contemporary vocoder carry the atmosphere. We hope to reach listeners who, like us, still appreciate true old-school synthpop — and we welcome new fans into our universe.”
