Eckotrigger is an exciting electronic/alternative synth rock duo formed in London UK comprising of Producer and Instrumentalist Paul Dogra and Vocalist/Lyricist Joel Alexander. The band lives in both London and Copenhagen.
Having been in many different bands over the years and frustrated with the difficulties that derive from a band experience, they formed Eckotrigger based on their shared appreciation and influence of artists such as Depeche Mode, NIN, The Cure, David Bowie, and The National. Seeking to create music that fuses elements of electronica and alternative rock, and evoking many different musical textures, themes and feelings. Music that is interesting and challenging! They work together in both London and Copenhagen on song ideas. Final recordings, mixing and production is done with Nathan at the amazing Fiction Studios in London.
Initially starting as out with the band name ‘The Ultra’, they released the four track EP ‘When The World Turns Out Its Lights’ – which was released by indie London record label Platform Records, and the single ‘Universe in Two’ received numerous rave reviews worldwide, radio play and as the trailer for the computer game ‘Die Young’.
The following year the band released a second and more experimental EP, which also received warm reviews. 2020 saw a rebrand and rehearsals with a drummer for live performances and then the global pandemic set upon the world.
Continuing the need to be creative, the end of 2020 saw the release of the Eckotrigger debut single ‘Collide’ and with an accompanying video with the relevant visuals for the song’s lyrical theme of mental health and addiction – receiving numerous radio plays and discussed on BBC Radio related to mental health, addiction, and the importance of music in helping to deal with these issues.
In early 2021, they signed to US publishing label SteadyGrind Music – affiliated with Sony Music – and in September performed for ‘World Peace Day 2021’ with other artists in a virtual concert.
Teh band is constantly, seeking to create music that is interesting, and challenging! In 2022 Eckotrigger signed with the Danish electronic Record Label, Town And Towers Records, and multiple singles have been released, and an EP is coming up in late Summer/Autumn 2024. The band has also been played on many indie radio stations and electronic music shows, and new releases are popping up in more and more magazines and music blogs. In both the UK and worldwide.
In 2023 they played at two electronic mini-festivals in Copenhagen, Elektroland 2023 and at Elektrofest. 2024 started out with 2 concerts in London and also a performace at the WarChild UK charity event.
