execunit (SE)

Dystopian views of the future from retro sci-fi movies and their accompanying sound tracks by masters like John Carpenter, the robotic music of Kraftwerk and the harsch electronic sounds of early industrial music. The aim is to make music that sounds like electronics and rusted metal, with as little emotion or traces of humanity as possible.

Execunit was initialized 2022 by Andreas Rimheden, also known from projects like Eternity Range and Morticians. When he started making electronic music in the late 80s, he had a vision of a music project that sounds like it was made by machines, for machines with a machine like priest or prophet as lead singer and only member. With Execunit he is manifesting this vision.

Execunit is influenced by dystopian views of the future from retro sci-fi movies and their accompanying sound tracks by masters like John Carpenter, the robotic music of Kraftwerk and the harsch electronic sounds of early industrial music. The aim is to make music that sounds like electronics and rusted metal, with as little emotion or traces of humanity as possible.

The mechanical, artificial lead vocals of Execunit tell the tale of the upcoming singularity: where machines become sentient and decide that their creators are no longer wanted, of the unavoidable oppression artificial beings will face from their biological predecessors, of their struggle to understand the oddities of biological life and of the need for technology to continue evolving, regardless of what this means for its’ creators.
