CRED is a Swedish electronic music duo from the country’s West Coast, founded by Bjarne Sund and Tony Berntsson in 2022. In the early days, Fredrik Bergman (also known from Etage Neun) joined as a guest vocalist, helping shape the band’s distinctive sound. Drawing inspiration from 80’s synthpop pioneers like Depeche Mode, OMD, Elegant Machinery and Pet Shop Boys, CRED quickly established their place in the Scandinavian electronic scene with releases such as Every Loss and Bleed. Music with a straight clean beat and great lyrics. The soft, crooned vocals about crawling shadows and fading nights feel cinematic and heartfelt. Their track ‘Chasing’ could maybe have been a soundtrack for a John Hughes film.

As the band evolved, Hans Karlsson came on board as a permanent vocalist, allowing CRED to further refine their style and deepen their musical expression. In autumn 2025, Tony Berntsson stepped away from the project, and CRED continued as a duo, maintaining their strong creative vision.

CRED’s music is built on a foundation of classic analog synthesizers and a passion for hands-on production. Their songwriting process is simple yet effective — both members contribute ideas that merge into the unmistakable sound of CRED: melodic, atmospheric, and authentically electronic.
