Vaylon (DK)

Vaylon is strongly inspired by the 80’s synthpop, and have been part of the Scandinavian synth scene through the last decade

Vaylon — Scandinavian Synthpop Pioneers
When you mention Vaylon, no further introduction is needed for most people.

Vaylon is a Danish electronic music duo made up of Dan Beck and Ole Ulrich Jensen, deeply rooted in the spirit of 80s synthpop. For more than a decade, they have been a vital force in the Scandinavian synth scene, weaving together atmospheric soundscapes, introspective lyrics, and electronic nostalgia.

Origins & Style
Formed in Copenhagen, Vaylon channels the melodic drive and emotional intensity of classic 80s electronic acts, while pushing forward with their own modern sensibilities. Their sound blends synthpopEBM (Electronic Body Music), and ambient textures, creating music that both honors the past and resonates with contemporary audiences.

Dan Beck’s musical exploration extends beyond Vaylon: he also leads the solo project Second Complex, which preserves his signature 80s-inspired electronic style and features collaborations with artists like renowned Brian Hazard (Color Theory), Swedish up-coming stnth stars Cold Connection and Ole Ulrich Jensen.

Artistic Vision & Themes
While Vaylon’s roots lie in retro synthpop, their work often explores darker, more contemplative themes — existential reflections, emotional alchemy, and a sense of longing. Their compositions are built around lush synthesizers, carefully crafted melodies, and thoughtful vocals that invite listeners into a deeply immersive world.

Impact & Legacy
Vaylon have earned a reputation as one of Scandinavia’s most consistent and innovative synthpop acts. Their decade-long presence has contributed significantly to the Nordic electronic music scene, influencing both peers and newer artists.
Their music is not only a homage to the golden age of synthesizers but also a testament to how vintage electronic sounds can be reimagined and modernized without losing emotional depth or authenticity.
