The Black Celebration is a band from Luleå, Sweden. The band was formed in 2021 and consist of Mattias Lampa who produce and write the music and he is working together with different vocalists.
The Black Celebration‘s music in based on old school synthpop with a dark vibe from the 80’s and 90’s, mainly inspired by Depeche Mode. Still, a bit poppy and with a cachy tune and chorus.
Town And Towers Records will release the bands debut single “Let Those People Talk” on March 18th, 2022.
Mattias Lampa says: “I have been a die hard Depeche Mode fan for as long as I can remember, but in every love affair you sometimes get lost. What happened to me… well, I found my dads record collection with Stones, Neil Young and Springsteen etc. So, to make a long story short, I started a rock band called “Sweet Lou”, and we released 2 albums and a couple of singles, and toured mostly in Sweden, but also in Norway, Russia and The Netherlands. But, I always had electronic music popping up in my head, so when we split up the band, I began to write synth songs.
“Let Those People Talk” was the first track I wrote for this project, and I have more songs coming up. The early version of L.T.P.T was with me as vocalist, but it was like Lemmy Kilmister (from Motörhead) goes pop, not so good 🙂
I began to look for vocalists to collaborate with, first around my music friends, but after a while I was thinking: I want someone who has English as a native language. I found Kody from Nashville and Rob from Ireland and we hit it off. I produce the music in my own home studio. “Let Those People Talk” is mixed by Kevin Paul. “
